He talk say di record show Akpabio’s “uncommon leadership style”, wey don help stabilize di economy, improve fiscal policy and boost inclusive development across Nigeria.
“A few out of the fifty-two bills passed by the 10th Senate have been signed by the President and Commander-in-Chief. Over ninety bills have been passed, another two hundred dey different reading stages. In fact, what the 10th Senate has achieved fit only be described as uncommon,” he talk.
Okolugbo point out say di Senate’s intervention don help strengthen di naira and reduce inflation to 20.12%, a 4.23% improvement from previous months. “We never reach di finish line, but light dey for end of di tunnel,” he add.
He list some of di key laws wey dem don pass, including di Student Loan Act, wey go help poor students get education loan wey dem go pay back only after dem don get work.
Another major one na Tax Reform Bill, wey dem first resist but later pass to expand di tax net and reduce burden for low-income earners.
Other big achievements include:
Minimum Wage Act, wey double workers’ salary by 100% and remove personal income tax for those wey dey earn minimum wage.
Creation of Five Regional Development Commissions across di South-East, South-West, South-South, North-West and North-Central zones.
Okolugbo talk say:
