The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) don name Senator Ben Obi as new secretary for di party Elective National Convention Organising Committee.

Dis one come after dem remove Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, wey be di former secretary under Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri-led committee, as e don waka go join All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

Di PDP national convention go happen for Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.

Senator Obi, wey don represent Anambra Central for Senate before, na Atiku Abubakar running mate for di 2007 presidential election under di defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Inside one statement from PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, di party talk say e still dey focused and united to make sure di convention go well.

E talk say, “Di NWC, on behalf of NEC, don approve Senator Ben Ndi Obi as Secretary of di National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) for di 2025 PDP Elective National Convention wey go hold for Ibadan. Di NWC also hail Governor Ahmadu Fintiri-led committee for all di work dem don do to make di convention succeed.”

E come add say, “We dey call all PDP leaders, stakeholders and members make dem remain united, focused and ready for di success of di convention and progress of our great party.”
