Dangote Petroleum Refinery don finally plan with fuel marketers to release about 600 million litres of petrol every month to balance fuel supply and bring down pump price wey don rise sharply across di country.
Dis one na wetin Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) confirm on Thursday through dia National PRO, Chinedu Ukadike, wey talk say Dangote don hold big meeting with major marketers like A.Y.M. Shafa, A.A. Rano, NNPCL Retail, Salbas and others.
According to Ukadike, di meeting na to arrange how fuel go dey reach different parts of di country without delay or too many middlemen wey dey cause price wahala.
“Dangote talk say dem go sell only to 20 selected marketers wey go act as main distributors to other dealers. Each marketer go lift minimum of two million litres every month — dat one go make am about 600 million litres total,” Ukadike talk.
E still add say once dis new arrangement start proper, fuel scarcity go reduce well and pump price go begin calm down.
Di National Vice President of IPMAN, Hammed Fashola, also confirm di arrangement but talk say di final list of 20 marketers never come out officially.
For Abuja and some other cities, filling stations still dey increase price because of tight supply. Check by reporters show say Optima Energy don raise price from ₦945 to ₦955 per litre, A.A. Rano dey sell ₦945, while A.Y.M. Shafa dey sell ₦940 per litre.
Marketers dey blame depot owners and supply delay for di new price wahala. According to IPMAN President, Abubakar Shettima, na because Dangote refinery stop loading for few days make depot owners use di chance raise dia price.
“DAPPMAN people see say Dangote no dey load, dem increase ex-depot price immediately. But once Dangote start again, di price go drop. Na just temporary issue,” Shettima explain.
Meanwhile, Dangote Refinery don also bring small relief for diesel users as dem cut diesel (AGO) price by ₦50 — from ₦960 to ₦910 per litre, starting from October 15, 2025.
For one notice wey di refinery send to customers titled “AGO Gantry Price Reduction,” Dangote appreciate customers for dia loyalty and promise say dem go continue to find way to make prices better for transporters and industries.
