Edo State Government don give former deputy governor, Godwin Omobayo, one-week ultimatum to return all government property wey still dey him hand.

Governor Monday Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, talk say government don notice say plenty official items — motor, documents, and other government things — wey dem give Omobayo during him short time for office never return till today.

Omobayo bin swear in April 8, 2024, when former governor Godwin Obaseki nominate am after wahala burst between am and Philip Shaibu. Later, court bring Shaibu back as deputy governor, wey make Omobayo’s time for office illegal.

Government statement talk say to still hold government property after comot from office na “clear breach of public trust” and “unlawful possession of state asset.”

Edo Government give am seven days to return everything to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government or else police go arrest am and collect the property by force.

Itua still add say the Okpebholo government no go gree make anybody, no matter who e be, keep government property wey belong to Edo people.

He say, “This government go always stand for transparency, discipline and integrity for public service. Omobayo suppose do the right thing now make e no add wahala or disgrace himself.”
