Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) don talk say voting no go happen for two polling units during the Anambra governorship election wey go hold November 8.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, yarn this one on Tuesday for meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).
According to am, the two polling units no get any registered voters, so e no make sense to do election for there.
He talk say, “INEC go deploy 24,000 workers for the election. Voting go happen for 5,718 out of 5,720 polling units for the state. The remaining two no get registered voters.”
National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, wey Hassan Abdullahi represent for the meeting, talk say government don ready to make sure say the election peaceful and secure.
According to Abdullahi, “We don increase surveillance, send plenty security people, and gather better intelligence to stop anybody wey wan scatter the election or cause wahala.”
He still warn say any politician or supporter wey try start violence go face strong action from security people.
Abdullahi add say, “We dey work with political party leaders and community people to make sure say everybody understand say violence no go help anybody. We go deal with anybody wey try break peace.”
