Former Labour Party presidential candidate for the 2023 election, Peter Obi, don officially defect go African Democratic Congress (ADC), the coalition-backed political party.
Obi announce im defection on Wednesday, December 31, during an event wey hold for Enugu. The former Anambra State governor say the move na strategic step as preparations for the 2027 general election dey begin.
According to am, the decision to join ADC na part of bigger plan to transform and rescue Nigeria from its present challenges.
“We dey end this year with hope say by 2026, we go begin journey to rescue this country,” Obi talk.
He also promise say him and im supporters go stand firm against any form of election manipulation, using only lawful means.
“We go resist rigging of election by every legal means come 2027,” Obi add.
