
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu don launch ECoN initiative for North-West and flag off 118km road project for Kano, as Federal Government push innovation commercialisation to grow Nigeria economy.

The programme, wey dem call “Energize Commercialization Now (ECoN),” na initiative from Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology to turn research ideas into real business products and services.
Focus on innovation and economic growth
Speaking during the launch, the First Lady say the initiative align with Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Tinubu, adding say Nigeria must move from ideas to practical solutions.
She note say even though Nigeria get many creative minds, plenty ideas no dey become real products because of structural challenges.
Create jobs and support youth
According to her, ECoN go:
- Support innovation and research
- Help young people and entrepreneurs grow
- Create jobs and boost productivity
- Strengthen Nigeria global competitiveness
She also call for inclusion of women and youths in the innovation ecosystem.
Support from leaders

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Jigawa Governor Umar Namadi and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau describe the initiative as timely.
Dem say the programme go open opportunities for youths and businesses to compete globally.
118km road project flagged off
As part of her visit, the First Lady, alongside Governor Yusuf, also flag off construction of 118-kilometre road project in Kano metropolis, wey dem name after her.
The project expected to improve infrastructure and support economic activities in the state.
Push for innovation-driven economy
The Federal Government say the ECoN initiative na strategic move to grow local innovation, develop businesses and position Nigeria as key player for science and technology globally.
