The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr. Bayo Ojulari, don announce say Nigeria oil production go soon climb reach 1.8 million barrels per day before December 2025 end.
Ojulari talk this one on Sunday after e visit President Bola Tinubu for Lagos to brief am about the activities of the national oil company since e assume office on April 2.
“With some of the turnaround maintenance wey we don do for August and September, all of those facilities go come back fully this month. We dey expect say before the year go end, we go dey produce at least 1.8 million barrels per day,” Ojulari yarn.
He also talk about how the recent PENGASSAN strike between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Dangote Refinery cause serious setback for oil and gas production.
According to Ojulari, di industrial action make Nigeria lose over 200,000 barrels per day during the period.
“E really bad say the Dangote and PENGASSAN issue cause strike. Once critical workers no dey, production go suffer. We lose over 200,000 barrels per day, gas production drop, and power generation reduce by about 1.2 megawatts,” he talk.
Di strike begin September 26 after PENGASSAN accuse Dangote Refinery of sacking over 800 Nigerian workers and replacing dem with foreigners. But after Federal Government intervention, through di Office of di National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and di Minister of Labour, di union suspend di strike on October 1.
Ojulari hail di government effort to restore peace between both parties, saying di resolution don help di economy recover quickly.
“I happy say di Federal Government quickly step in. With everybody back to table, operations don begin stabilize. We dey work to recover the small production wey still remain deferred,” he add.
