The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, don release fresh update on top the indefinite strike wey dem bin schedule to start Friday, November 21.
For statement wey the union post for their X handle on Friday, ASUU clear the air say dem never officially announce any strike action.
Dem write: “To whom it may concern, no official declaration of strike has been made.”
Dis update dey come three days after ASUU threaten say dem go shut down all public universities if Federal Government no meet their long-standing demands.
Na since October ASUU bin suspend their warning strike to allow negotiation with FG, but dem still dey vex over issues like salary increase and other welfare matters. The union don reject the 35% salary increment wey government propose, say e no tall reach their expectations.
