The Federal Government of Nigeria don approve N3.8 billion contract to build solar mini-grid for Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, for Kano State.

According to statement from the school, the Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mustapha Abdullahi, reveal the development when him receive Vice-Chancellor Musa Yakasai for Abuja.
The project, wey cost N3.8bn, go generate about 2 megawatts of electricity and expected to start soon, with completion time of about three months.
The DG explain say the initiative na part of federal government “Renewed Hope” solar programme, wey target to improve power supply for hospitals, universities and rural areas across Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Abdullahi also talk say dem don already provide 200 solar streetlights for the university, with another 200 units on the way.
For him side, Vice-Chancellor Yakasai praise the DG for the support, especially the streetlights wey don improve security and allow students study well at night.
He also call for more partnership on renewable energy projects, including setting up energy laboratory and training programmes.
This project go help reduce power problem for the institution and improve learning environment for students.
