The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) don strongly condemn allegation of extortion against its officers wey dey operate for Lagos-Seme border corridor.
Following the complaint, Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, don order immediate investigation into the matter.
She also direct say all Controllers of Immigration wey dey serve for the affected commands make dem step aside from duty pending the outcome of the probe.
According to statement wey NIS spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi release, the alleged actions of the officers no acceptable and go against the ethics and standard of the service.
“Such behaviour no reflect our core values and we no go tolerate anything wey go damage public trust,” the statement talk.
The immigration boss also order thorough investigation to identify all officers wey involve, promising say strict disciplinary action go follow immediately.
NIS still encourage members of the public to report any misconduct through their official communication channels, as dem dey work to strengthen accountability and professionalism.
The service assure Nigerians say dem remain committed to integrity, discipline and proper management of migration activities.
