The Nigerian Senate don reject call by former Edo State Governor and senator, Adams Oshiomhole, for a probe into military spending across the country.
The proposal, wey Oshiomhole raise during plenary, seek make lawmakers investigate how funds allocated to defence and security agencies don take dey spent over the years, especially as insecurity still dey affect many parts of the country.
However, majority of senators no support the motion, leading to its rejection on the floor of the Red Chamber.
Oshiomhole reportedly argue say Nigerians deserve transparency and accountability on billions of naira wey government don commit to security operations, especially as banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other security challenges continue for different regions.
Despite his concerns, some lawmakers maintain say opening such investigation at this time fit affect ongoing military operations and national security efforts.
The Senate eventually decide not to proceed with the proposed probe, effectively shutting down plans for any immediate investigation into defence spending.
