Ministry of Education Say Digital Exam Don Improve Transparency, Fight Exam Malpractice
The Federal Government don praise the successful rollout of the National Examinations Council (NECO) Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), describing am as one major step to improve examination credibility and move Nigeria education system enter digital era.
The commendation come after the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, monitor the examination for Abuja and express satisfaction over how the exercise go.
According to the minister, the CBT examination run smoothly without any major technical problem, while many candidates also adapt well to the new system.
She explain say the CBT format dey help reduce examination malpractice because every candidate dey receive different arrangement of questions, making cheating more difficult and ensuring say students pass based on merit.
Professor Ahmad reassure Nigerians say the Federal Government go continue expand CBT examinations across the country through a gradual and inclusive process.
She also promise say no student go suffer or lose opportunity because of lack of internet access, electricity or computer facilities.
According to her, the Ministry of Education dey work closely with the National Assembly, state governments and private sector partners to improve CBT infrastructure across Nigeria before full implementation.
Meanwhile, NECO Registrar, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, disclose say 1,378,048 candidates register for the 2026 SSCE, including more than 700,000 female candidates.
He also announce say candidates fit expect their examination results on or before the first week of September 2026.
The Federal Government say e remain committed to using technology to improve examination transparency, learning outcomes and build an education system wey fit compete with global standards.
