Federal Govment don start one nationwide revenue recovery programme wey go help increase money wey dey enter the Federation Account and close all leakages for the system.
The new plan dey under the joint work of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and e go last for six months. Over 50 consultants don already join the work to find and recover all government money wey never enter account from different sectors.
For the inauguration wey happen for Abuja on Monday, RMAFC Chairman, Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, talk say the move no be normal office routine but one serious step to make Nigeria revenue system more open and accountable.
“This one na deliberate and result-oriented innovation to make sure every kobo wey belong to the Federation enter where e suppose enter,” Shehu talk.
He talk say the plan dey in line with President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda wey focus on accountability and economic stability.
Representing the FIRS boss, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, the Coordinating Director, Shettima Tamadi, hail RMAFC for the proactive idea and talk say the FIRS go give full support to make the plan work well.
“Nigeria get big revenue gap, but if we work together as agencies, we fit bridge am and make fiscal growth solid,” Tamadi yarn.
The Commission Secretary, Mr. Joseph Nwaeze Okechukwu, come warn the consultants to do the job well and return all money wey dem recover within the six months wey government give.
Lead consultant, Mr. Temitayo Ojeleke, talk say the work na “national call to duty,” and promise say dem go carry am with full transparency and seriousness.
