Zulum Close Borno Biggest IDP Camp for Bama, Says Gwoza Go Follow

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, don order the immediate closure of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp for Bama, the biggest displacement camp outside Maiduguri, saying the Gwoza camp go also close within the next few weeks.
Governor Zulum make the announcement on Thursday after visiting the Government Secondary School IDP Camp for Gwoza to assess the situation.
According to am, authorities don complete the profiling and screening of displaced persons for Bama, and the camp go officially shut down immediately. He add say the same process don finish for Gwoza, and the camp go close within two to three weeks.
Zulum explain say the decision follows the return of relative peace to many communities previously occupied by Boko Haram insurgents, making it possible for displaced families to return to their ancestral homes.
The governor say over the past seven years, the Borno State Government don successfully resettle communities including Darajamal, Nguro Soye, Goniri, Banki, Abbaram, Ngoshe, Kirawa, Warabe and several other locations across the state.
However, Zulum express concern over the increasing level of criminal activities inside some IDP camps. According to am, security agencies don identify cases of criminality, while Boko Haram and ISWAP elements are allegedly trying to infiltrate some of the camps.
He also raise alarm over the growing number of people wey abandon their homes and return to IDP camps just to collect relief materials from non-governmental organisations.
The governor reveal say government screening uncovered many fake IDPs, stressing say such development makes it difficult to continue operating the camps.
Zulum assure residents say the state government go ensure displaced persons return to their communities in a sustainable and organised manner.
He also disclose say more IDP camps across Borno State go be closed before the end of his administration as government continues efforts to restore normal life in communities affected by insurgency.
