Police Arrest Alleged Fake Presidential Council DG for Osun

The Nigeria Police Force don arrest Adeniyi Adeyemi, wey authorities accuse of parading himself as the Director-General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The arrest happened in Osun State, just hours after a court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

Adeyemi has been at the centre of an ongoing investigation over the alleged operation of the fictitious council, which the Federal Government earlier declared as an organisation not recognised by law or established by the Presidency.

His arrest comes shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the activities of the alleged fake council, including claims of forgery, impersonation, use of fake government documents and other related offences.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to release full details surrounding the arrest or the next legal steps.

TheStreetNewspaper will continue to monitor the case and provide updates as more official information becomes available.
