NDDC Begin Three-Day Procurement Training for Top Management
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) don kick off a three-day Capacity Building Programme on Public Procurement for members of its Executive Management and Directors in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The training, wey dey hold from July 13 to 15, 2026, is taking place at Galaxy Signature (Osborne La-Palms) Hotel.
While declaring the programme open, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, reaffirm the Commission’s commitment to transparency, accountability and strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act.
Ogbuku urge participants to ensure say all procurement activities align with the Commission’s Annual Procurement Plan, stressing say due process and accountability remain key to delivering sustainable development projects across the Niger Delta.
Expert Highlights Global Best Practices
The opening session of the training was facilitated by the pioneer Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Emeka Ezeh, who spoke on international best practices in public procurement.
According to Ezeh, procurement processes should always promote value for money, open competition, transparency and accountability.
Top NDDC Officials Attend
Among those present at the programme were the Executive Directors:
- Alabo Hon. Boma Iyaye
- Sir Victor Antai
- Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde
Also in attendance were members of the Management Committee led by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Sir Kelechi Nwelue, the Director of Procurement, Dr. Chuks Osuji, alongside other directors and senior management staff of the Commission.
The NDDC said the training is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve professionalism in public procurement.
