Adelabu resignation come on Wednesday, making am the third minister wey don leave Federal Executive Council within 48 hours.
Resign to pursue governorship ambition

For letter wey he send give Bola Tinubu, Adelabu say him go step down officially by April 30, 2026, to focus on him ambition to contest for Oyo State governorship.
He explain say the decision align with Electoral Act 2026 wey stop serving political appointees from contesting elections.
Adelabu thank the President for opportunity to serve and highlight him contributions to power sector reforms.
Achievements and challenges
During him time, he say power generation improve from around 3,500MW–4,500MW to over 6,000MW peak.
He also mention progress in:
- Transmission infrastructure
- Revenue growth in electricity market
- Debt restructuring of over N4 trillion
But he admit say challenges like gas supply issues, vandalism and infrastructure gaps still remain.
Presidency: Edun, Dangiwa no sack
Meanwhile, Presidency don deny reports say Wale Edun and Ahmed Dangiwa were sacked.
According to Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, both ministers resign by themselves.
Reason for their exit
Onanuga reveal say Edun resign on Monday, citing health reasons, after celebrating him 70th birthday.
Dangiwa also submit resignation letter, thanking Tinubu for the chance to serve.
However, sources say complaints from ministries over delay in release of funds also play role in Edun exit.
