
Jilli airstrike no innocent victims, as Nigeria Defence Minister Christopher Musa defend the controversial military operation for Borno State, insisting say those wey die dey support terrorists.
Musa talk during interview say the strike na deliberate action based on credible intelligence, and the location na known hub where insurgents dey get supplies.
“No innocent person dey there. Anybody wey go that place know wetin dem dey do,” he talk.
The airstrike don cause serious debate, especially after reports say civilians fit don die, but the minister reject claims of mistake or wrong intelligence.
According to am, the Jilli area no be normal market but place where people dey supply food, fuel and other materials to terrorist groups.
He explain say some people dey go there because of profit, noting say traders fit sell goods like rice at very high prices.
“If you carry rice go there, you fit sell am up to N150,000. People go there because of money,” he add.
Musa also stress say anybody wey knowingly support terrorists no fit be called innocent under law, as their actions help insurgents continue their attacks.
However, he admit say some people fit be forced into cooperation, but insist say those wey willingly do business with terrorists no be victims.
The Defence Minister also question reports of high casualty figures, saying no clear evidence don confirm the numbers circulating.
He maintain say the area don already become restricted zone, and anybody wey enter knowingly take risk.
Musa conclude say cutting off support from civilians na key to ending insurgency in the North-East.
