Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, don ready come back National Assembly as her six-month suspension finally end. Na her lawyer, Victor Giwa, yan dis one give journalists for Abuja, wey TheStreetNewspaper gather.
According to Giwa, Natasha dey London for vacation but she don set every arrangement to resume plenary once Senate reconvene on September 23.
“Everything don set. She go come back resume normal as suspension don expire. No obstacle dey at all,” na wetin her lawyer talk.
Natasha suspension start March 6 after Senate accuse her of insubordination because she refuse change seat during plenary. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions bin recommend make dem suspend her, plus collect her aides, office and salary.
But Natasha no gree. She claim say di wahala na because of her petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, wey she accuse of sexual harassment — allegation wey Senate sharply dismiss. She later carry matter go court, and court give judgment wey favour her recall, but Senate leadership still hold say di six-month punishment go complete.
Her attempt to force comeback for July scatter as security operatives block her from enter chamber even though crowd of supporters gather outside National Assembly gate.
Now wey suspension don end last Saturday, her lawyer dey confident say nothing fit stop her comeback. “Even di court case no go matter again, everything go resolve,” Giwa add.
Effort to reach Senate spokesman Yemi Adaramodu and Akpabio media aide no yield, as dem no pick call or reply message.
