EDGE Group, one of the world’s biggest advanced technology and defence companies based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), is reportedly close to signing a $300 million agreement to supply military equipment to the Nigerian Armed Forces.

According to available reports, the company is in the final stage of negotiations with Nigerian authorities over the proposed defence contract.

If the deal is completed, EDGE Group is expected to supply a range of advanced military equipment, including its globally recognised Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled drones and smart munitions, designed to strengthen modern military operations.

The proposed agreement forms part of Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to improve the operational capacity of its armed forces in tackling insecurity and other security challenges across the country.
