University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) don finally break silence say dem no issue Bachelor of Science degree certificate to Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uche Nnaji. Di school confirm say although Nnaji enter UNN in 1981, he no finish him studies and dem never give am any certificate.
Dis matter don dey drag since July 2023, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu nominate Nnaji as part of him first batch of 28 ministers. From dat time, plenty people don dey accuse am say di B.Sc degree and NYSC certificate wey he present be forged documents.
For response to Freedom of Information (FoI) request, UNN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simon Ortuanya, talk clearly:
“Mr Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji with Matric No. 1981/30725 was admitted into UNN in 1981, but records show say he no complete him programme. Therefore, UNN no fit issue certificate to am in July 1985 or any other year.”
Dis statement match with earlier letter wey UNN send Public Complaints Commission in May 2025, where dem talk say dem no get record of Nnaji graduation.
