Nigeria Police Force and Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) don reach agreement to review di tinted glass permit policy wey don cause plenty wahala for road users.
NBA-SPIDEL Chairman, Dr. Paul Ananaba (SAN), talk dis one for Ikeja on Thursday during interactive session wey dem hold before di association annual conference wey go happen for Akwa Ibom from December 1 to 5.
Ananaba talk say di review go balance public interest with national security and stop di police wahala wey dey make dem arrest or impound motor anyhow because of tinted glass.
“After our talk with police top officers, we agree say make dem suspend tinted permit enforcement first, while we set up joint committee to review di matter,” he yarn.
He come add say di committee go get both police and NBA-SPIDEL people inside, and dem go check di legal and security wahala wey dey inside di policy to find better solution wey go favour both government and citizens.
Ananaba also talk say SPIDEL no dey fight police but dey promote justice and accountability for public matter.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Adaobi Egboka, Director for Africa Initiative under di Vance Centre of New York City Bar, talk say dem wan join hand with NBA-SPIDEL to improve pro bono legal work for Africa.
She talk say di plan go help create one framework wey go make law firms dey offer free legal help and build database wey go record how lawyers dey support poor people.
