NEMA Don Plan to Tighten Coordination, Early Warning System to Stop Flood Wahala

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) don confirm say dem go build better emergency and disaster response structure for all local government area for Nigeria.

The agency Director-General, Madam Zubaida Umar, yarn this one for Maiduguri on Monday during two-day workshop wey dem tag “Emergency Preparedness & Response Stakeholders Engagement Workshop.”

Di training na joint effort between NEMA, World Bank Group and Borno State Govment to train people wey dey handle emergency matter for better response when wahala burst.

Umar, wey Bamidele Onimode represent, talk say the main aim na to make sure coordination, data management and early warning system dey strong for local level. She talk say dem wan move from just reacting to problem to being ready before e happen.

“As we start this engagement, make we remember say we don come far, but we still fit do more together,” she talk. “Make we move from reaction to preparedness, from coordination to resilience, and from intention to action.”

World Bank rep, Oluwaseun Olowoporoku, also yarn say the bank go continue to support Borno State with technical help and experience. He talk say, “Every dollar wey person invest for preparedness dey save many more for response and recovery.”

He hail Borno Govment for their effort to protect lives and property against flood and other disaster wey climate change dey cause.

Borno State Emergency Management Agency boss, Ali Abdullahi Isa, thank NEMA for their leadership and talk say the state go continue to work hand-in-hand with dem to protect the people well-well.
