House of Reps Don Set to Investigate Projects Weh TETFund Use Money Build

House of Representatives don agree to check the kind work wey Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) don do for different universities across Nigeria to make sure say government money dey used well.

The decision follow motion wey Hon. Aderemi Oseni (APC, Oyo) move for House plenary. He talk say many old universities wey be Nigeria’s pride before don lose their glory because of poor infrastructure and neglect.

Oseni mention say universities like University of Ibadan, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria used to be among the best for Africa during the 1960s, but now many of their lecture halls, hostels, and even university zoos don fall apart.

He talk say although TETFund projects suppose help fix the infrastructure wahala, some of the new projects wey the agency build don start to spoil quickly, even faster than old buildings wey dem build 60 years ago.

The lawmaker talk say e necessary make government carry out proper inspection to make sure say the money wey TETFund spend really show for ground.

House of Reps come direct Federal Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, NUC, TETFund and Development Partners make dem work together to refurbish old universities and restore their original standard.

Reps also order their Committees on Education, Works, and Public Accounts to carry out oversight investigation and report back to the House.

Oseni talk say the investigation go help expose poor-quality work and ensure that Nigeria’s first-generation universities return to their former glory days.
