Federal High Court for Abuja don shift the matter wey Dangote Petroleum Refinery carry go court against NNPCL and some oil companies go November 5, 2025, because the judge no dey available.

Justice Mohammed Umar wey suppose hear the case no show for court as him dey sit for Enugu division, so the matter wey dem bin fix for hearing today no fit hold.

The case wey Dangote Refinery file dey challenge oil import licence wey NMDPRA give NNPCL and five other oil marketers — AYM Shafa, A.A. Rano, T. Time Petroleum, 2015 Petroleum and Matrix Petroleum. Dangote talk say the licence no follow the Petroleum Industry Act because government suppose only give such permit when fuel short for market.

Dangote still dey ask for ₦100 billion compensation, say the import licences don spoil the refinery plan and weaken local production.

But NNPCL and NMDPRA no gree. Dem tell court say the case no get leg to stand and that the refinery never fit meet Nigeria daily fuel demand.

Some of the oil companies wey dem join for the case also warn say if Dangote win, e go turn monopoly for the oil market and cause wahala for fuel supply.

The judge don fix the matter go November 5 to continue hearing.
