FG Don Approve Over ₦1 Trillion to Fix Roads Across Nigeria

Minister of Works, David Umahi, talk this one for statement wey e drop for weekend. He say the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting wey happen on November 6, 2025, approve the money to carry out big construction work under the ministry.

The road projects include: 163km Sokoto–Badagry Coastal Superhighway (Badagry to Ogun–Oyo border) wey go cost ₦553 billion; Ota–Idiroko Section I wey dem put ₦98 billion plus one flyover of ₦23 billion; Ijebu Igbo–Etapa–Owoyen Road (37 km) wey go chop ₦53 billion; and Lagos–Ibadan Expressway Phase II Section II wey dem just award fresh at ₦43.73 billion, with underpasses and ramps inside.

Other roads include Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egba Road (31 km) ₦43 billion; Wasasa–Turunku–Mararaba (42 km) ₦30.23 billion; Enugu–Onitsha Road (35 km) ₦28.47 billion; Mushin–NNPC–Apapa–Oshodi Dualisation (14.4 km) ₦19.09 billion; and East–West Road (PH–Warri axis) with 3 flyovers and 2 bridges ₦156 billion.

Umahi talk say the reason why the cost go up na because of inflation, hard terrain, and design upgrade. E still mention say one ton of reinforcement steel now don pass ₦1.1 million.

The Minister also hail the governors of Edo, Delta, and Abia States wey don carry some federal roads for their area as their own responsibility to help federal government reduce load and fast-track work.
