Nigeria’s National Hajj Commission Cuts 2026 Pilgrimage Costs Across Zones to Ease Burden on Pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) don slash the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country, making the pilgrimage more affordable compared to 2025.

According to NAHCON, pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zones go pay ₦7,579,020.96, down from ₦8,327,125.59last year — a reduction of ₦748,104.63. Pilgrims from the Northern Zone go pay ₦7,696,769.76, down by ₦760,915.83from 2025. Meanwhile, intending pilgrims from the Southern Zone go pay ₦7,991,141.76, representing a decrease of ₦792,943.83 from the previous fare of ₦8,784,085.59.

NAHCON also set December 5, 2025, as the final payment deadline for all intending pilgrims to complete their registration and secure participation in the 2026 Hajj exercise. The commission urged the public to make payments before the deadline to ensure smooth processing.

The fare reductions follow directives from President Bola Tinubu, delivered through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, to make the 2026 Hajj more affordable for Nigerian Muslims.
