INEC Say Dem No Recognise Abdulrahman Mohammed as PDP Acting Chairman

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) don turn down letter wey Abdulrahaman Mohammed send as “acting chairman” of the Samuel Anyanwu faction of PDP, say the document no follow the law at all.

Mohammed and Senator Samuel Anyanwu bin write INEC on November 6, 2025, beg make the commission postpone the PDP Ekiti governorship primary because of “logistical wahala.” Dem even talk say dem go later give new date.

But the primary still happen on November 8, 2025, and Dr. Wole Oluyede win am with 279 votes. Funso Agent get 239 votes while Funmilayo Ogun score 17 votes.

INEC reply the party on November 10, 2025, with letter wey carry reference number INEC/DEPM/PDF/286/94. The commission talk clear say the request no valid because e no comply with the 2022 guidelines for political parties.

INEC explain say na only the real National Chairman and National Secretary fit sign and submit notice of congress, convention or primary — no be anybody wey call himself acting chairman.

With this rejection, INEC don indirectly talk say e no recognise Abdulrahaman Mohammed as PDP acting national chairman.
