Federal Government don officially open application for di 2026 Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas Scholarship Scheme, giving Nigerian postgraduate students chance to study oil and gas-related courses for top institutions abroad.

PTDF say di 2026 overseas scholarship go give candidates access to world-class training, modern research facilities and global expertise, while helping Nigeria develop indigenous capacity for oil and gas sector.

For PhD candidates wey wan study for UK, PTDF explain say dem go follow split-site arrangement. Dis one go allow students carry out research both for College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna (CPESK), and partner universities like Robert Gordon University, University of Strathclyde and University of Portsmouth.

PTDF warn say di scholarship highly competitive, and only candidates with strong academic and professional records go qualify.

For MSc applicants, requirements include minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) degree, completion of NYSC, computer literacy, and at least five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics. PhD applicants must also submit detailed research proposal of not more than five pages, clearly stating objectives, methodology and data collection plan.
