Odigie-Oyegun, former governor of Edo State, emerge as APC National Chairman for 2014 after di merger of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). E later dump APC after internal disagreements.
ADC don officially become di platform of di opposition coalition on July 2, 2025, with aim to contest di 2027 presidential and other elections.
Di coalition accuse APC-led Federal Government of hijacking democratic institutions and pushing Nigeria towards what dem describe as “civilian dictatorship” in di last two years, promise say dem go rescue di country and rebuild democracy.
For September 2025, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially recognise ADC leadership under Senator David Mark, former Senate President.

Other top ADC officers recognised by INEC include former Edo State Governor, Oserheimen Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser; Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer; and Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary.
