According to memo wey journalists sight for Abuja on Tuesday, the directive affect directors for the ministry, federal hospitals, agencies and parastatals under the health sector.

The order follow recent instruction from Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, wey direct all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to strictly enforce the eight-year tenure limit for directors and permanent secretaries.

The memo, wey Tetshoma Dafeta, Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Health Ministry, sign, remind all agencies say directors wey complete eight years for the rank as at December 31, 2025, must disengage from service immediately.

The circular also instruct say all affected officers must hand over official documents and government property sharp-sharp. Their salaries must stop through the IPPIS unit, and any money wey government pay dem after their official disengagement date must be refunded back to government treasury.

Health Ministry also direct heads of agencies and parastatals to submit nominal roll of all directorate officers to the ministry, warning say monitoring teams from the Head of Service office and the ministry go soon start compliance checks.

The memo warn say any agency wey fail follow the directive go face serious sanctions.

The policy dey base on the Revised Public Service Rules (PSR) 2021, wey officially take effect from July 27, 2023, after approval by Federal Executive Council.
