African Democratic Congress (ADC) don vow say e go mobilise Nigerians across the country to protect integrity of future elections, as the party accuse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of weakening Nigeria democracy by signing the amended Electoral Act into law.

The opposition party make its position known for statement wey National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, release on Thursday.
ADC question the speed wey the President take assent to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill despite widespread objections from members of the public.
According to the statement, the “alarmingly speedy” signing of the bill amount to setback for credible elections and Nigeria democracy.
The party argue say although the President claim say the amendment go strengthen democracy, the changes instead introduce ambiguity and allow too much discretion in collation and transmission of election results.
ADC also raise concern about the fast passage of the amendment by the National Assembly, saying the haste raise serious questions about government confidence in transparent electoral process.
The party talk say if the ruling government truly believe in its political dominance, there should be no reason to rush changes to the electoral framework.
The statement further warn say lack of firm guarantees for electronic transparency fit force citizens to become extra vigilant to protect their votes and prevent discrepancies between polling units and collation centres.
ADC affirm say as registered political party in Nigeria, it ready to defend the sanctity of democracy through constitutional and lawful means.
“We go mobilise Nigerians toward vigilance, lawful participation and unity to defend their constitutional rights. The will of the people must prevail, and no law wey dem rush pass fit kill the democratic aspirations of Nigerians,” the party state.
The development signal fresh political tension as political parties begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
