Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu don call for peace and reconciliation inside Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), as faction wey loyal to Nyesom Wike inaugurate convention committee.

Ikpeazu talk on Saturday during meeting wey the Wike-backed group hold to prepare for the party national convention.

According to am, the moment no be just ceremony, but important turning point for PDP.

“Dis convention no be ordinary gathering, na time to correct mistakes and move forward,” Ikpeazu talk.

He admit say the party don pass through serious crisis, including internal disagreement and long legal battle wey even reach Court of Appeal.

Ikpeazu say the recent court decision wey confirm the party caretaker committee na chance for PDP to reset and rebuild.

He urge party members to embrace true reconciliation based on honesty, respect and forgiveness.

“We must listen to each other, accept where we go wrong and forgive ourselves if we want move forward,” he add.

He also call on stakeholders across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory and 36 states, to support the convention process.

According to am, the goal na to organise transparent convention wey go produce credible leaders ahead of 2027 elections.

Also speaking, Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, beg former PDP senators wey leave the party during the crisis to return.

She say the leadership crisis make many members defect, but insist say PDP still remain strong.

“To those wey don leave, I tell una say the grass no greener for the other side. Una dey welcome back anytime,” she talk.

She also celebrate say despite challenges, PDP still stand as political party and ready to move forward.
