
A renowned economist and politician, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen don pick the African Democratic Congress presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 election, as the ADC presidential race begin gather momentum across Nigeria.
Hayatu-Deen collect the form on Thursday night for the party national secretariat for Abuja, making am the first aspirant to officially show interest for the ADC presidential ticket.
The party National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, present the form to am, while many party members describe the move as early sign say the politician dey serious and organised for the 2027 contest.
Speaking shortly after e collect the form, Hayatu-Deen talk say e go respect any decision wey the party leadership take concerning direct primary or consensus arrangement.
According to am, ADC leadership strong and disciplined, and all members must follow party rules.
“I don come pick the nomination form to contest for president under ADC platform, and I go abide by any process wey the leadership choose,” he talk.
Furthermore, the economist say democracy give every qualified Nigerian right to contest elective office, adding say Nigerians deserve free and fair elections where people fit choose leaders without intimidation.
Hayatu-Deen also promise to unveil fresh economic and governance ideas if e emerge as party candidate. According to am, im priority go focus on job creation, reduction of living costs, improved security and poverty reduction across the country.
“My priority na jobs, lower cost of living, serious action against insecurity and reducing poverty by at least 60 per cent within four years,” he said.
In addition, the aspirant say Nigeria no suppose continue as one of the countries with the highest poverty level in the world, insisting say citizens deserve prosperity and responsible leadership.
Meanwhile, Hayatu-Deen acknowledge say the race no go easy, especially with reports linking former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and other top politicians to the contest. However, e express confidence in im experience and leadership ability.
“I believe say I get strong vision, competence and practical ideas to govern Nigeria responsibly,” he added.
