
Vice President Kashim Shettima don officially submit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 presidential election, saying the president don stabilise Nigeria economy despite hardship and economic pressure.
The submission happen on Thursday at the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress for Abuja, as Tinubu formally signal im intention to seek second term in office.
Earlier in April, lawmaker James Faleke and some support groups purchase the ₦100 million nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of the president.
While addressing APC leaders and stakeholders, Shettima defend the administration economic policies, describing the first term as period of difficult but necessary reforms to rebuild the country’s economy.
“As he dey seek another four-year term, President Tinubu don prove im capacity and determination to move Nigeria away from hardship and economic pain,” Shettima talk.
Furthermore, the Vice President insist say despite criticism over inflation, rising cost of living and fuel subsidy removal, Tinubu remain focused on long-term recovery plans.
According to am, the president no allow political pressure weaken am, even as many Nigerians continue to complain about economic hardship across the country.
“The storms of the past years never break am. Instead, e make am stronger. The president don steer Nigeria through difficult economic waters with courage and bold decisions,” Shettima added.
In addition, the Vice President say the reforms don help restore investor confidence and improve economic stability, even though many citizens still dey battle high prices of food, transportation and other essentials.
Meanwhile, the formal submission of the forms follow weeks of consultations within APC and among political stakeholders across the six geopolitical zones.
Supporters of the president say Tinubu need more time to continue infrastructure development and social welfare programmes, while critics continue to question the impact of the administration’s policies on ordinary Nigerians.
However, Shettima urge party members and supporters to continue backing the president, insisting say difficult truths and reforms are necessary for Nigeria’s future stability and growth.
