Gbege don burst for labour front as Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) don finally throw weight behind Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) for their fight against Dangote Group.
NUPENG don announce say dem go enter nationwide strike from tomorrow, accuse Dangote Group of anti-union practice, monopoly wahala and treating workers like slaves.
For strong statement signed by NLC President, Joe Ajaero, wey TheStreetNewspaper see, NLC order all workers make dem ready for solidarity action.
“We no go fold hand make one big man dey enslave Nigerian workers and destroy union rights wey people suffer fight for,” NLC thunder.
Wetin NLC Accuse Dangote Of:
Pay the lowest wages for oil and gas sector.
Stop workers from join union freely, force dem enter “company union.”
Prefer foreign workers over Nigerian welders and fitters.
Use casualization, poor salary and unsafe condition take run business.
Use monopoly style to control cement, sugar, flour and now petroleum sector.
NLC yarn say instead of creating jobs and reduce suffering, Dangote dey use him refinery project do primitive capitalism— exploit scarcity, increase prices and make Nigerians suffer more.
Warning to FG
Labour don call Federal Government make dem call Aliko Dangote and him associate, Sayyu Dantata, to order sharp sharp.
According to NLC, if government look away, history go hold dem responsible for “privatizing Naija energy future and enslaving workers.”
Nationwide Action Loading
All state councils and industrial unions don dey on red alert. NLC vow say if Dangote no stop the anti-union wahala, dem go mobilize workers nationwide until victory show.
“This no be philanthropy, na plunder. This no be development, na enslavement. We go fight because we must fight,” NLC declare.
