Before now, the Kaduna State House of Assembly set up ad-hoc committee to investigate financial dealings and contract liabilities under El-Rufai government.
Chairman of the committee, Henry Zacharia, allege say many loans wey the state collect no follow the purpose wey dem talk say dem wan use am for. E also claim say in some cases, due process no follow before dem secure the loans.
Speaker of the House, Yusuf Liman, talk say about ₦423 billion allegedly disappear under the administration, leaving Kaduna State with heavy debt.
The committee come recommend say security and anti-corruption agencies investigate and prosecute El-Rufai and some members of im cabinet for alleged abuse of office, diversion of public funds and money laundering. Dem also suggest make dem suspend the current Commissioner of Finance, Shizer Badda, wey also serve under El-Rufai before.
El-Rufai Camp React
Reacting to the allegations, El-Rufai spokesman, Muyiwa Adekeye, describe the claims as “scandalous” and politically motivated.
According to am, El-Rufai serve Kaduna State with integrity and follow all laws while in office. E talk say the probe no fair and say many of the conclusions don already dey decided before the investigation start.
Phone-Tapping Case Still Ground
Meanwhile, the EFCC invitation come as the Federal Government don also file separate charge against El-Rufai over alleged phone-tapping matter involving National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
