FG Launch DNEMIS Portal to Transform Education Planning Across Nigeria
The Federal Government don officially unveil the Digital National Education Management Information System (DNEMIS) and launch its public portal to improve planning, transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s education sector.
The new digital platform will provide one trusted national database for education, making it easier for government and stakeholders to monitor schools, learners and teachers across the country.
According to the Federal Government, DNEMIS will, for the first time, give Nigeria a clear and unified picture of foundational education, covering pupils from pre-primary to Junior Secondary School (JSS).
With reliable and up-to-date information, policymakers will be able to plan better, invest resources more effectively and introduce reforms that improve learning outcomes for every Nigerian child.
The government stressed that meaningful education reforms can only succeed when they are backed by accurate and credible data.
DNEMIS is the first major component of the National Education Data Infrastructure (NEDI), a long-term initiative designed to create one integrated education data system for the entire country.
As the project expands, NEDI will connect information across every level of Nigeria’s education system, making education planning, governance and service delivery more efficient.
The Federal Government also expressed appreciation to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the University of Oslo, the DHIS2 Team, and other development partners for providing technical support that made the project a reality.
Education administrators, researchers, policymakers, journalists and members of the public have been encouraged to visit the DNEMIS Portal to explore official education data, generate insights and contribute to better policy decisions.
The Ministry described the launch as more than the unveiling of a digital platform, saying it represents the foundation for a smarter, technology-driven education system where decisions are based on facts rather than assumptions.
The initiative is anchored on the vision of creating “One Ecosystem, One Source of Truth for Education”, with the goal of delivering quality education to every Nigerian child.
