Alleged N1.35bn Fraud: Lamido, Sons Case Delay Again as Defence Lawyer No Show
Trial of former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, and im two sons, Aminu Lamido and Mustapha Lamido, don delay again after dia lead lawyer, Joe Agi (SAN), no appear for court.
Di case continue on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, before Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu for Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, where Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) dey prosecute dem over 37-count charge of alleged money laundering, illegal kickbacks and fake contract awards worth N1.35 billion.
According to EFCC, di alleged offences happen between 2007 and 2015 when Sule Lamido serve as Governor of Jigawa State.

EFCC lawyer, Chile Okoroma (SAN), say although dem receive di affidavit informing dem about di trip that same morning, dem no go oppose di application because defence promise to finish dia case quickly.
After hearing both sides, Justice Ojukwu agree postpone di matter. She say new hearing date for September 2026 go be communicated to all parties for continuation of di trial.
