According to statement from di agencies, di initiative dey backed by Sections 6, 7 and 8 of di Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, wey make am compulsory for every taxable person to obtain Tax ID.
Di agencies explain say di Tax ID go serve as one unified identity for taxpayers, allowing seamless interaction with tax authorities at both federal and state levels.
Dem add say di system go help reduce duplication of taxpayer records, improve accountability and ensure better management of tax information nationwide.

Meanwhile, organisations handling corporate entity integration were directed to contact di Tax Automation Department of di Nigeria Revenue Service for access to di new Tax ID API and implementation guidelines.
