The Dangote Petroleum Refinery don hail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for him quick intervention wey stop wetin the company describe as “disruptive actions” from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN).
For one statement wey the refinery release on Sunday, Dangote management praise the President’s leadership and the effort of top government officials wey help restore peace and stability to Nigeria energy sector when tension nearly scatter everything.
Last week, PENGASSAN bin shut down key oil and gas operations after dem accuse Dangote Refinery of sacking 800 workers wey join union. But after Federal Government intervention, the union suspend the strike on Wednesday, and things don return to normal.
According to the statement, Dangote Refinery say:
“We dey grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for him timely intervention through his ministers and top government officials. Their efforts stop the planned disruption of Nigeria energy sector and bring back peace.”
The company also recognize the effort of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (Adeola Ajayi), and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (Mohammed Mohammed), wey “work tirelessly” to make sure the crisis no spoil the oil industry.
Dangote management also thank ministers like Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), Wale Edun (Finance and Economy), Senator Abubakar Bagudu (Budget and Economic Planning), and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha (Minister of State for Labour and Employment) for their patriotism and late-night efforts to save the sector.
“We remain very grateful to these officials for their dedication and national service,” the company talk.
The refinery also appreciate Nigerians for the overwhelming support wey dem show during the crisis, saying the encouragement from citizens “give us hope and reinforce our belief in Nigeria.”
Dangote Group accuse some “economic saboteurs and rent seekers” of trying to frustrate the refinery’s progress and Nigeria’s economic stability. The company vow say it go continue to stand strong for the country’s development.
Dangote also use the opportunity to hail its workers for their loyalty and discipline during the tension, saying:
“Our staff no allow operations stop even for one second. Their dedication and commitment na the backbone of Dangote Group.”
The refinery also salute the Nigerian Judiciary for protecting the rule of law despite intimidation from those the company describe as “oligarchs and saboteurs.”
“The judiciary stand up for truth and justice when we need them most. Their decision show say the court still be the hope of ordinary Nigerians,” the statement add.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirm say it go continue to serve Nigerians with commitment and honesty, promising “uninterrupted production of petroleum products” as part of its national duty.
“Our commitment to Nigeria and her people remain strong and unshakable, no matter the distractions from detractors,” the company conclude.
The refinery recently find itself for the middle of labour wahala with PENGASSAN, wey accuse Dangote of unfair labour practices. The tension almost crippled the energy sector before Tinubu administration step in to calm the storm.
