For statement wey the party National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, release on Monday, ADC talk say to use coup wahala do politics fit spoil Nigeria democracy and take away people freedom.
The matter start after report come out say Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) don arrest some soldiers from Captain reach Brigadier General level say dem dey plan to overthrow President Bola Tinubu govment. But Defence Headquarters don already deny am say the story no get truth.
ADC talk say e surprise dem say the govment never talk clear about the matter even after the military don deny am. According to dem, this silence dey make Nigerians dey fear and dey allow fake story to spread.
The statement talk say, “ADC dey watch closely the report about alleged coup plot and talk say e no good if govment wan use am do witch-hunt or silence people wey no support dem. The way govment sources dey talk different things don make people suspect say this coup talk fit get political agenda.”
The party accuse the govment say dem dey use the coup gist take distract Nigerians from real wahala of bad governance and to collect public sympathy.
ADC come call on the Federal Govment make dem talk the truth about the matter. “If coup dey, make una talk am clear; but if e no true, make una stop to use security matter take pursue opposition people,” dem talk.
The party end by saying dem stand gidigba for democracy: “We no go ever support any form of dictatorship, whether na military or civilian. We support democracy, but we no go gree make anybody use national security take silence Nigerians.”
