TCN Announce Say Abuja Go Face Over Two Weeks Light Blackout

TCN don announce say some parts of Abuja go dey without light for over two weeks because of road construction wey go affect power line.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) don talk say some parts of Abuja go experience light wahala wey go last for more than two weeks.

According to statement wey TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah release on Monday, the power cut go start Tuesday, October 28, and e go end Sunday, November 16, 2025.

She talk say the reason for the blackout na because of road construction work wey the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) dey do for the Kuje axis, and e go affect the 132kV Gwagwalada–Kukwaba–Apo transmission line.

The areas wey go dey affected include Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, and Idu Industrial Layout.

TCN talk say the work go happen for three phases to make sure safety dey and to manage the load well:

  • First phase: October 28 – November 2 (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

  • Second phase: November 6 – November 9 (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

  • Third phase: November 12 – November 16 (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

The company still assure say them go restore power to the affected areas every evening after work close.

“We know say e go cause small inconvenience, but na for everybody safety and to make sure construction work move well,” TCN yarn.

TCN come beg residents make dem bear with them as dem dey work to improve service and make power supply stable after the project finish.
