For one memo wey she post for X, wey she title “A Memo To Nigerians: A Call to Collective Voice on the Shrinking Civic Space and Erosion of Citizens’ Rights in Nigeria,” Ezekwesili talk say the recent wahala wey police dey cause for activists and protesters na “serious warning sign” say government no wan hear any dissenting voice again.

She beg Tinubu make e order Inspector-General of Police to release activist Omoyele Sowore and him people, and also make Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, apologise to EiE Nigeria Director, Yemi Adamolekun, and one other activist, Ms Nafziger, wey dem harass.

Ezekwesili talk say the kain things wey dey happen now na “clear example of how our democracy dey lose oxygen.”
She mention how police don scatter protests for Nnamdi Kanu supporters, how dem disturb #EndSARS memorial, and how dem still dey arrest Sowore even when court don grant am bail.

She talk say, “Na government wey dey fear truth and accountability go dey suppress people voice. Real strong government dey protect freedom, no be to silence citizens.”

Ezekwesili still call Nigerians make dem rise defend their democracy. “Democracy no fit survive if we no fit talk. Once dem silence one person, e mean all of us don lose small of our liberty,” she add.
