Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, wey dey represent Kogi Central, don send strong warning give former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, ahead of 2027 senatorial election, say she no fear am at all.
Akpoti yarn dis one while she dey talk for Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, as rumour dey fly say Bello fit contest di Senate seat wey she dey occupy now.
According to di senator, Bello political power no move her, as she remind people say she beat candidates wey Bello support for 2023 election.
“Make I talk am clear-clear: I no fear Yahaya Bello,” she talk. “E be governor before, e get power, but I overcome am.”
She say she win di 2023 election for all five local government areas for her senatorial district, add say she refuse to contest for one area because di election there don too rig.
Akpoti come talk say if dem meet for ballot for 2027, e no go be ordinary contest.
“If we meet for 2027, e no go be contest — na reckoning. I be him nightmare,” she talk.
Di senator also clear air about her party position, say she still dey PDP, even though APC, presidency-linked people and political associates don approach her several times.
According to her, any future decision go depend on consultation with her family, her people and her party. But she warn say if PDP no settle im internal wahala before election, she fit change platform.
“If PDP no settle dem crisis before election, I need just one month to choose platform — and my people go follow me,” she add.
Earlier this year, Akpoti allege say if any violence happen during her visit to constituents, Bello, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Kogi governor Usman Ododo suppose take blame.
Later, Yahaya Bello petition Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, accuse di senator of making defamatory statements against am.
