Okonjo-Iweala talk dis one on Monday for Umuahia, during the commissioning of electric buses wey Abia State government buy,
stressing say any programme wey support clean and safe climate deserve full support.

The former Nigerian Minister of Finance praise Governor Alex Otti and im administration, say Abia na the first state for Nigeria wey officially launch electric buses.
She express hope say other states go follow Abia example.
“One of the biggest problems wey world dey face today na pollution and climate change,” she talk.
“Even though Africa dey contribute just about three per cent of global carbon emissions, we still get responsibility to help protect the climate for everybody.”
According to her, any step wey reduce pollution go also help protect people health and future generations.
For im own speech, Governor Alex Otti say the introduction of electric buses show say Abia dey move towards the future, as the whole world dey shift to zero-emission transportation.
Otti explain say the buses dey specially designed to consider Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs), adding say when fully charged, each bus fit cover between 400 and 450 kilometres.
The governor also announce say Abia people go enjoy free transportation with the electric buses from December till early January 2026, along selected routes for the state.
He further reveal say the buses get special security cameras installed inside, to protect passengers and monitor activities.
“Any unlawful act go dey recorded and traced,” Otti talk, assuring commuters of their safety.
The launch of the electric buses mark another major step for Abia State towards clean energy, modern transportation and climate-friendly policies, as Nigeria gradually dey explore greener alternatives to fossil fuel transport.
