
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, don ask Senator wey represent Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, make he prepare for serious defeat ahead of di 2027 general election.
Otti react through statement wey him Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, issue on Monday. Di reaction follow comment wey dem credit to Kalu, where he claim say All Progressives Congress (APC) go take over Abia State for 2027 and say he go work for APC candidates.

According to di statement, Governor Otti never at any time go meet Senator Kalu to beg am make he support him re-election, neither he try convince am to work against APC or any APC governorship candidate for 2027.
Di statement add say Kalu constant emphasis on saying he no go support Otti against him party don become something wey no dey make sense again.
Otti explain say people wey truly want support their party and candidates no dey make unnecessary noise, but show am through hard work and genuine commitment.
Part of di statement read:
“If Senator Kalu repeated statements dey meant to subtly threaten Governor Otti, then e don make serious mistake, because threats dey harden Governor Otti, no be to weaken or scare am.”
Di governor also challenge Senator Kalu make he publicly show him polling unit and ward results from di last governorship and presidential elections.
According to results wey Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) release, APC record heavy losses in both governorship and presidential elections for most polling units and wards in Bende Local Government Area, where Senator Kalu come from.
Di statement question how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lose election in Kalu constituency if truly Kalu work for am, while Kalu himself win senatorial election conducted same day.
Governor Otti further reveal say four strong aspirants don already declare interest to contest di Abia North Senatorial seat under Labour Party. He assure say whoever emerge as LP candidate go receive full support of di state government to win di 2027 election.
Di development don further heat up political rivalry in Abia State as parties and candidates begin early positioning ahead of di next general elections.
