
Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) don finally arrest one long-time wanted drug kingpin, Lekan Jimoh wey dem know as Kanmo-Kanmo, twelve years after e dey allegedly behind killing of three NDLEA officers.

NDLEA catch Jimoh on Friday, January 16, 2026, for Owode town inside Ogun State, after serious intelligence-led operation by tactical teams of di agency. When dem search im hideout, officers recover about 69 kilograms of skunk, one strong type of cannabis.
According to statement wey NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, release on Sunday, Jimoh don dey NDLEA wanted list since June 15, 2014. Na dat year e allegedly gather armed boys attack NDLEA officers when dem try arrest am for im area.
Babafemi talk say di suspect get long history of violence and drug trafficking, and say di arrest na big breakthrough for NDLEA. E explain say for 2014, Jimoh organise mob attack against NDLEA team, wey lead to di killing of three officers, including Rabiu Usman Kazaure. NDLEA also remind public say for August 12, 2023, operatives raid Jimoh house for Ado-Odo, Ogun State, where dem seize 139 sacks of skunk wey weigh 1,922 kilograms. Jimoh still escape again then, but court later forfeit di property, wey dem dey use as drug warehouse, to Federal Government.
Meanwhile, NDLEA continue nationwide operations against drug dealers. For Edo State, officers raid Arokpa forest for Uzebba town, Owan West LGA, arrest one 53-year-old man, Isihor Edika, and seize 320 kilograms of skunk plus cannabis seeds.
For Abuja, NDLEA arrest one 44-year-old woman, Yinka Agboola, for Kaura District, over alleged online sale of drugs. Officers recover 2.2 kilograms of skunk and litres of cannabis oil wey she dey make and sell from her house. Another suspect, Tordue Pius Richard, 30, also get arrested with cocaine and skunk for Abacha Estate.
For Lagos, NDLEA seize 118.1 kilograms of skunk from two suspects for Fadeyi, Mushin. Same day, officers recover 116 kilograms of skunk from one warehouse for New Market area of Enugu State.
Along Onitsha–Asaba Expressway for Delta State, NDLEA arrest two young men with over 410,000 tramadol pills, codeine syrup, diazepam, swinol and Molly. For Oyo State, several suspects fall for different drug raids for Ibadan, with large quantities of skuchies, Colorado, skunk, tramadol and bromazepam seized.
For Kwara State, NDLEA raid one house for Gamo area of Ilorin, seize 42 bags of skunk wey weigh over 387 kilograms. For Jigawa State, officers arrest ex-convict Gaddafi Ammani and im accomplice Ahmed Sani with skunk and exol-5 pills, though Ammani try escape and injure one officer.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (retd.), praise officers across Ogun, Lagos, Edo, Delta, Oyo, FCT, Enugu and Kwara for di successful operations. E describe di arrest of Kanmo-Kanmo as victory for justice and strong warning to drug barons.
Marwa say make nobody think say time fit erase crime, stressing say NDLEA long memory go always catch anybody wey kill or attack officers. According to am, di arrest close painful chapter since 2014 and send clear message say no fugitive dey above law.
NDLEA say dem go continue nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking networks, target long-wanted suspects and scatter supply chains, as dem push harder to protect Nigeria from illicit drugs.
