One pro-Atiku Abubakar group, Atiku Haske Organisation, don officially expel Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, following im defection to di ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Di convener of di group, Mai Bakari, confirm di development for statement wey e release on Sunday. According to am, Abba no get any right or authority to decide which political party di organisation go support.
Dis action come days after Abba on Thursday announce im move to APC, where e also direct all coordinators and members of im political structure to immediately join di ruling party and mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope agenda.
Reacting to dat directive, Bakari say Abba no be founder of Atiku Haske Organisation and therefore no fit speak or decide on behalf of di group.
Di statement say, “Na we found Atiku Haske Organisation, and we only invite Abba to join us. E never contribute any kobo to di activities of di group and e no even hold di registration certificate of di organisation. Because of dat, we no get any obligation to follow im directives.”
Bakari add say instead of Abba to dey give orders, na him supposed to obey di rules of di organisation. According to di group, Abba don fall short of their expectations and dem don clearly dismiss am as member.
Di organisation also make am clear say dem no get interest to follow Abba defect to any political party. Dem insist say dem don already leave di Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and move as a body to di African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The Atiku Haske Organisation no be party to Abba defection, and we no dey interested in joining am for APC or any other party apart from ADC,” di statement add.
Earlier, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, wey recently defect to ADC ahead of im 2027 presidential ambition, describe im son decision to join APC as personal choice, stressing say e no concern im own political move.
